Cherokee HS Students Win National Career Skills Awards

Two of our students earned top honors at a national career skills competition!
Cherokee High School senior Alaina Emmett and Class of 2026 graduate Bailey German this summer earned gold medals at the 2026 Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) National Leadership Conference held in Washington, DC. We’re on a mission to be the highest-performing school district in Georgia where students are learning more, growing more, and achieving more in our classrooms than they could anywhere else!
Alaina earned gold in the career investigation competition, and Bailey earned gold in leadership and also was named a Top 10 national finalist. More than 4,300 students competed in 30-plus events connected to Family and Consumer Sciences careers. Carmen Andrews is their Career Pathway teacher and FCCLA sponsor at Cherokee HS.
